Safety Gear for Pushback Vehicles
Pushback vehicles tow heavy aircraft and are responsible for maneuvering them safely onto the taxiway. Pushback vehicle drivers steer the truck and the plane, with the pilots having no control over steering.
Due to the heavyweight nature of an aircraft, the operation is quite risky. However, the vehicles have become safer over the years with the introduction of remote-controlled steering, eliminating the need for a pushback driver altogether. Improved navigation systems have also made taxying safer.
Abrams MFG actively works to further improve safety on the runway by innovating with its lighting and safety systems for pushback vehicles. We custom-design products based on the aircraft and the amount of weight being towed.
